Sir – Shauna Bramham (Letters, May 14) rightly points out how dangerous the Green Lane/Otley Road junction in Baildon is, and adds to the numerous requests for traffic lights to be installed.
One has to wonder at the priorities of Bradford Council when one sees new pedestrian lights installed on Valley Road and at Briggate in Shipley, the latter including extra lights and a pedestrian refuge as well.
It is difficult to understand why either of these should be anywhere near the top of any list, especially as further lighted crossings are available in the vicinity of both.
Surely the money spent on these installations would have been much better put towards the far more important works at the aforementioned junction? Perhaps Bradford Council would like to explain its thinking, which so far eludes many of us?
