SIR – I’m pleased to see the Telegraph & Argus highlighting behavioural problems on our public transport and the way police officers are dealing with it (T&A, May 14).
We should also remember that more than 220 million bus and train journeys take place in West Yorkshire every year. Experiencing or witnessing any crime or anti-social behaviour during journeys is extremely rare.
Another reader raises the issue of some passengers putting their feet on the seats and asking what are the bus companies doing about it.
Some companies display information on their buses asking passengers not to put their feet on seats, also not to eat or drink on the bus, play music loudly and to respect passengers by keeping their voices down when using a mobile phone.
A small minority of passengers are unaware of these rules, with some it’s just pure bad manners.
