SIR – Having just read the bad news that the Council is planning to pull down Myrtle Park Bowling Club pavilion, I would just like to put some international input in to try and save it.
I think that pulling it down would be a bad thing, as people would have no place to run the club from, also over the years it has been a great place for meeting people, and also enabling people to stay out of the sun and rain while watching a sport they love.
Maybe the Council could use the money to renovate the place, instead of pulling it down.
I can remember being a child, playing bowls, tennis and putting; why not get it all up and running again, to bring money and people into the park?
If the pavilion was renovated, the balcony above would be a great viewing platform for the rest of the team members.
Please get as many people behind this, so that the Council doesn’t make a mistake, and doesn’t take away something that so many people love. It has been around for years.
