SIR – Having just read the T&A article regarding dog-fouling and littering (April 25), I think Bradford Council should take a leaf out of Leeds Council and introduce a pilot scheme of its own to crack down on dog-fouling and littering in areas of Bradford and put Thornton village on its priority list starting with Market Street.
It’s like playing dodgems on the footpaths in the village, particularly for the children of the village who travel on the street to get to Thornton Primary School every day, including my own grandchildren.
The volume of dogs in Thornton has increased tenfold, but the owners are not taking responsibility by cleaning up after their dogs when they have fouled.
I am sure that many people in the village would agree its time something was done about this disgusting business (excuse the pun).
Mrs Susan Drake, Leaventorpe Lane, Thornton, Bradford
