SIR – It was heart-warming to see that at Mrs Thatcher’s funeral George Osborne (pictured) is human enough to have enough feelings to shed a tear.

After his public indication of what he may – because of his Eton schooling – consider to be a weakness let all of us in our economic suffering appeal to his human side to stop the failing economic experiment he is inflicting on us in the guise of an economic plan.

After three years of the experiment he really only has two more years to stop this getting worse, never mind to get things better. He must realise that in not changing the experiment the Conservatives have no chance of a majority at our next election.

So please let his supporters write to him and tell him. For all our sakes.
