SIR – The Clayton Village Hall has for many years played a prominent part in the lives of the people of Clayton and is now, sadly, in danger of closing without more local support.
The volunteers, in whatever role, have made valiant efforts to keep the doors open and to their credit they have, year by year, strived to improve the facilities to a very high standard, but unless the people of Clayton rally round and volunteer to assist the hall where they can in their efforts to stay open, there is a real danger of possible closure which would be a very sad day for Clayton.
Can you attend the open day on Saturday, April 20, (noon to 3pm) as this would give you the opportunity to consider the ways you can help keep the hall open and your presence would, I am sure, encourage all the people making strenuous efforts to try to ensure the hall remains open.
We live in challenging times, but now is the time for the people of Clayton to show the community spirit for which Clayton has long been famous.
Remember, your village hall needs you!
