SIR – George Galloway is a disgrace with his comments regarding the greatest peacetime leader this country has had, Baroness Thatcher.
Of course she made mistakes – who has not? But has Galloway and his fellow traveller Karl Dallas forgotten the 1970s? The power workers’ strike, the first miners’ strike, the three-day week, car workers, printers, all on strike, the rubbish piled high on the streets, and the dead unburied?
The people responsible for this anarchy were the trade unions, the paymasters, as now, of a weak Labour Government led by ‘Sunny Jim Callaghan’.
It desperately needed a strong leader to sort it out, and that leader was Baroness Thatcher. The British people agreed and she won the next three elections.
Get over it, George and Karl, the Left will never ever be in power in this country.
