SIR – Further to the correspondence about refuse collections over Christmas/New Year, I usually have my bin emptied on a Tuesday, like Councillor Glen Miller (Letters, January 3).
Unlike A Richards and L Ritchie (Letters, January 4) I did not have a sticker put on my bin or a flyer through my door, and judging by all the bins left on the pavements for the last two weeks, neither did any of my neighbours.
On reading their letters in the T&A on Friday, January 4, I put my bin out for emptying on January 5, but no collection was made. We all pay our council tax, so why did some areas have a collection while others did not?
Also, some of us are elderly and without our own cars and therefore cannot take our own rubbish to the waste recycling centres.
