SIR – Once again, Christopher Hindle (Letters, December 26) repeats what is peddled on the money website he recommended to readers the other day.
Only the Bank of England creates spurious money out of thin air. Mortgages and loans through high street banks are different. They lend money deposited with them and the borrowers pay for this service out of money they have earned from their employment. I used to be a mortgage-payer, and believe me I never made money out of thin air. Stop this nonsense, Mr H, please.
