SIR - I read with great interest the article "Kerbs putting me in danger" (T&A, October 26).
I too have written to the highways department with regard to a dropped kerb near to where I live.
The actual kerb is a danger to anyone like me who owns and drives an on/off the road vehicle. I have asked the Council quite a number of times to make this kerb safe for all who drive specially adapted vehicles, but nothing has been done about it.
I sympathise with Neil Wigglesworth's plight, but sympathy is not what he wants.
The Disability Discrimination Act came in to help such people with the problems which they are encountering at the moment, but the Council only thinks of how much it will cost, not about people's safety.
