SIR - I'm writing regarding the article Potholes row could soon be smoothed out' (T&A, October 24) to re-iterate the frustration I and the majority of other residents on the street share with regards to the Council.
The adoption process has been happening for over five years and with every day that passes the surface gets worse.
Having attended the October Bradford North Committee meeting, where the adoption of Springville Terrace featured as an agenda item, I was given a flow chart diagram detailing the various stages of this complicated process.
According to the chart, the Council needs 75 per cent of the residents in favour for them to go ahead, yet when this scheme was proposed, the Council was content with a 72 per cent majority. This has since dropped to 55 per cent, thanks to a 200 per cent price increase.
If I was a resident of Summerhill Drive and Summerhill Avenue I'd certainly be questioning why the Council has changed its rules and decided that for this case an 80 per cent majority is required.
How can we be expected to have a positive relationship with the local authority when they continually let us down?
