Train enthusiasts and passengers watched as the historic locomotive 46115 Scots Guardsman steamed through Shipley railway station on Sunday.
The rebuilt Royal Scot class 4-6-0, built in 1927, was taking passengers on a Waverley summer steam service across the Settle to Carlisle line, one of the most famous railway routes in Britain.
During a series of trips by The Railway Touring Company, The Waverley will travel the route on eight Sundays. The service crosses the Ribblehead Viaduct and travels through the Blea Moor Tunnel.
During its journey yesterday it ran out of water.
Firefighters from Keighley were called to help.
A West Yorkshire Fire Service spokesman said: “They asked if we could help and we were happy to oblige.”
The service departs from York, Leeds, Shipley, Keighley and Skipton .
