A QUICK-thinking neighbour saved a car from being destroyed after an arsonist doused it in petrol and set it alight.
The drama happened on Briar Wood, Wrose, at about 12.45am today.
A West Yorkshire fire service spokesman said a Mitsubishi 4x4 had petrol thrown at it before being set on fire.
He added: "One of the neighbours saw it and put most of it out with a domestic dry-powder extinguisher. The neighbour saved the day.
"There was very little damage compared to what could have happened. It was mainly cosmetic damage."
Firefighters from Idle station were called to the scene.
Any witnesses, or anyone with relevant information, can contact police on 101.
