A WOMAN was led to safety by firefighters and then given oxygen after a fire in her kitchen.
Items including a cereal packet and dish cloths, which had been placed on a hob, started the fire in the ground floor flat on Prospect Walk, Windhill, Shipley.
Fire engines from Bradford, Idle and Shipley fire stations attended the incident at around 5.35pm today.
A woman in her 50s was given first aid treatment at the scene for the effects of smoke inhalation. The fire caused damage to the kitchen.
A fire service spokesman issued a warning about the dangers of placing items on or near to hobs which can remain hot after they have been switched off.
