SIR - Can someone tell me why the war memorials in the city centre make no mention of British servicemen killed on peacekeeping duties in Israel/ Palestine?
Some 750 died, including nearly 100 when Israeli militants blew up a hotel and 17 more in a similar attack on an officers club.
As late as 1949 RAF aircraft were shot down by Israeli aircraft and four pilots killed while on unarmed reconnaissance flights over Egypt.
Why are these brave men not recognised?
