SIR - Why has Bradford City of Culture decided to spend an "undisclosed" amount of money on a sculpture called The Tower of Now?
It is said it will explore British identity with the inclusion of soundscapes in mother tongues of local residents, but it sounds like it would be leaving out many other residents. Are languages to include English, Polish etc?
Will these soundscapes be heard over a fair distance or just within feet of the sculpture?
The look of the sculpture is not discreet. Why does it have to be so large and at what cost?
Why is it necessary to spend, what could likely be a large sum of money, given the artist is said to be world renowned, on something which is of no real benefit?
That money could have, possibly, funded something long term which would have seen more benefited. As it is, it is just another example of wasted money on projects in Bradford.
Can they tell us what is going to be the actual cost of this sculpture?
We are also told the sculpture will only be in place until 2026, but where will it go after that?
