PLANS to extend a popular cycle route have been proposed by Bradford Council.

The public have been invited to comment on proposals to extend the TCF (Transforming Cities Fund) Cycle Superhighway at Thornton Road.

To facilitate these plans Bradford Council wants to introduce a change in the operation of times of the existing bus lane on Thornton Road from 4pm to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday, to 24 hours daily.

A copy of the draft order together with maps showing the affected roads and the statement of reasons for the proposal may be examined during normal office hours at the Customer Services Reception, Ground Floor, City Hall, Bradford BD1 1HY or examined on the council web site at bradford.gov.uk/transport-and-travel/highways/traffic-regulation-order.

If you wish to object to the proposed order you should send the grounds for your objection either by post to the address below or by e-mail to Objections@bradford.gov.uk to be received no later than 12 noon on Friday, November 1, 2024 quoting reference CORP/PCD/JLF/416986.

This application is one of a number appearing as a public notice on Bradford Council’s website.

Among them is an application for a licence to sell alcohol and provide late-night entertainment at a city centre bar.

Crown Ivegate Ltd has applied to Bradford Council for a licence to use Crown Sports Bar 23-25 Ivegate, Bradford BD1 1SQ for the sale of alcohol and to provide regulated entertainment and late-night refreshment from 8am to midnight from Sunday to Thursday and from 8am to 3am the following day on Friday and Saturday.

Anyone wishing to comment should write to the Licensing Team Shearbridge Depot, Shearbridge Road, Bradford BD7 1PU by Friday November 8. Persons wishing to inspect the Licensing Register may do so at this address between 9am and 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 5.30pm on Friday.

It is an offence to knowingly or recklessly make a false statement in connection with an application, which carries an unlimited fine.

Temporary road closures due to public utility works this week include a length of Westfield Road, Manningham, from a point outside number 58 to a point outside number 74, as work on the water main is carried out.

The order comes into effect at 8am on Monday October 28 and will remain in force until 6pm on Wednesday October 30.

Alternative routes for traffic affected by the road closure will be via Westfield Road (the unaffected section), Scotchman Road, Heaton Road, Lilycroft and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times while the work is carried out.
