AN ORDER has been put in place for the ‘stopping up’ of a Bradford road.
This affects public rights to use Purbeck Court in Holme Wood, including its car parking area, to enable development works permitted by Bradford Council.
Stopping up a highway is a legal process that removes use of a highway, such as a road, street, or footpath while work is carried out.
The order has been made under reference 23/01381/FUL. Copies may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7AR or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting NATTRAN/Y&H/S247/5788). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Holme Wood Library, 1 Stirling Crescent, Broadstone Way, Bradford BD4 9BU.
Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the order may apply to the High Court by Tuesday November 5.
Elsewhere in the district temporary road closures have been put in place to allow work to be carried out. Gas works to be carried out on or near Holme Top Lane and Park Lane, Bradford, has meant the temporary closure of the following stretches of road:
* Holme Top Lane from its junction with Little Horton Lane to its junction with Park Lane.
* Park Lane from its junction with Newell Street to a point outside No. 66 Park Lane.
This is in force until 6m hours on the 6th December 2024.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for traffic affected will be via Park Lane (the unaffected section), Little Horton Lane and vice versa.
In Smith Street, Bradford, where construction works are being carried out in two phases, the road will be closed as follows:
*Phase 1 - from its junction with Listerhills Road to its junction with Longside Lane
*Phase 2 - from its junction with Longside Lane to its junction with Tumbling Hill Street
Alternative routes for traffic affected by the traffic order will be:
*Phase 1 - via Smith Street (the unaffected section), Longside Lane, Listerhills Road and vice versa.
*Phase 2 - via Smith Street (the unaffected section), Tumbling Street, Thornton Road, Listerhills Road and vice versa.
The order will remain in place until 6pm on May 4, 2025.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times while the work is being carried out.
Construction works to be carried out on or near Thornton Road, Denholme, has necessitated the closure of Thornton Road from its junction with Halifax Road to its junction with Brighouse Road.
The order will remain in force until 6pm on the Friday November 15.
