SIR - You reap what you sow, and that is certainly looking like it could be the case with new Shipley Labour MP Anna Dixon.
Maybe she's following the same course as the previous Labour MP for Shipley all those years ago, Chris Leslie, who was never willing to rock the boat and seemed more interested in trying to climb the political greasy pole.
Ms Dixon has already followed the party line by voting in favour of the cut in Pensioners' Winter Fuel payments.
She is also now railing against the Shipley Eastern Bypass, saying it has "never been a realistic proposal" (T&A, September 9), no doubt trying to anticipate its cancellation by her government.
Try telling that to many of the residents of Baildon and the Wharfe Valley towns who have to suffer journeys through Shipley and along Canal Road.
Let's hope she doesn't decide that funding for Bingley Pool is also no longer viable. A worrying start from the lady.
Bob Watson, Baildon
