SIR - I refer to the decision to demolish the former Prospect pub in Bolton Road (T&A, August 14).
What a great pity to lose yet another of Bradford’s Victorian landmark buildings, and such a prominent feature of the once thriving Wapping area of the city. Could not its imposing frontage be saved, restored, and incorporated into the proposed apartment development?
While on the subject of the Wapping district, I ask yet again about the derelict Bradford School Board building where, in 1898, the first school swimming pool in the country was opened.
There is continuing silence at City Hall on the former Wapping Road School. It would be interesting to have the views of the ward councillors for the district.
