SIR - There was a T&A article (July 15) headed "Crowded prisons a factor in arsons".
Within the piece was a comment from a Fire Service Area Manager stating that "the fact that many prisoners now shared cells due to the current situation likely played a part".
But surely cell sharing should be an established practice? I certainly wouldn't expect single cells to be the order of the day. It is not meant to be a glorified holiday.
