RESIDENTS are being invited to comment on applications for licences to sell alcohol and provide late night entertainment at two city centre venues.

R J Thompson has applied to Bradford Council for a licence to use the premises at 46-48 Westgate, Bradford, BD1 2QR, for the sale of alcohol and provision of regulated entertainment from Sunday to Thursday 8am to 11pm Friday, and on Saturday from 8am until 1.30am the following morning.

Anyone wishing to comment should be made in write to the Licensing Team, Shearbridge Depot, Shearbridge Road, Bradford BD7 1PU, to arrive by Friday June 7.

Anyone wishing to inspect Bradford Council’s Licensing Register can do so at the above address between 9am and 5pm Monday to Thursday and from 9am to 4.30pm on Friday.

An application has been received for a variation of an existing premises licence.

Gladys Lum has applied to Bradford Council to use the premises at 8 North Parade, BD1 3HT, for live music and recorded background music from Sunday to Thursday, 5pm to 3am, and on Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 4am.

The application includes late night refreshments from Sunday to Thursday 5pm to 3am and Friday to Saturday from 5pm to 4am, and alcohol sales from Sunday to Thursday from 5pm to 3am and on Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 4am. The proposed hours of operation are Sunday to Thursday 5pm to 3am and Friday and Saturday 5pm to 4am.

Representations should be made in writing to the Licensing Team, Argus Chambers, Hall Ings, Bradford, BD1 1HX by Saturday June 8.

It is an offence to knowingly or recklessly make a false statement in connection with an application, and carries a maximum fine of £5000.

In Shipley, a length of footpath is to remain closed for several months as it is thought to present a danger to the public.

Footpath number one (Shipley), Saltaire will be inaccessible from its junction with the Canal Towpath to its junction with St Ives Street while work is carried out to make it safe.

Alternative routes for pedestrians are be available via Ives Street, Hird Street, Salts Mill Road, Canal Towpath and vice versa.

This order came into effect at 8am on April 22 and remains in force until 6pm on October 21.
