SIR - It was a pleasant surprise to receive two notifications stating that our energy prices per unit are being decreased from April 1.
However, closer perusal reveals the April Fool's joke is that the standing charges are going up!
My electric standing charge by 14p per day to a total of 67.436p per day and my gas by 3p per day to a total of 31.56p per day.
Give with one hand, take away with the other?
