SIR - The boundary commission published their recommendations for Bradford in November 2023 and we have until February 5 to provide feedback.
Changes to ward boundaries should ensure all wards have a similar number of voters, and avoid dividing communities between different wards. The decision by the boundary commission to move Laisterdyke from the Bradford East parliamentary constituency to Bradford South will place Laisterdyke in Tong ward, and significantly increase the number of voters in Tong ward.
To bring Tong ward closer to the average size it is proposed to transfer the part of Bierley south east of Bierley Lane and Shetcliffe Lane to Wyke ward. The new ward, 'Wyke & Bierley Woods', is divided by the M606.
