SIR - The long awaited and much needed Shipley Eastern Bypass moved a big step closer recently with funding promised by the Government.
This has just been discussed by Bradford Council, but it was concerning to read the comments of Labour Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw that "the old scheme doesn't necessarily meet the needs of Shipley today" (and) "we'd like to take a more holistic view" (T&A, December 26).
On the contrary, the need is still there but more so.
Councillor Ross-Shaw then makes a pathetic dig at Shipley MP Philip Davies and talked about "nonsense usually spouted".
Presumably AR-S was looking in the mirror when he made that remark?
