SIR - The report on the planning application to build a house on a garden space in Thackley made for interesting reading (T&A, November 25).
However, in a way by far the most interesting part of the report was the voting record of the councillors on the planning panel. It stated that three members of the panel voted to approve the plans, one objected, and two abstained.
I emphasise here that two councillors abstained. Surely anyone sitting on a planning panel should be expected to make a decision?
If they cannot do so then perhaps they should not be on a planning panel at all?
