SIR - I attended Bradford’s annual Remembrance Sunday service in the alternative setting of City Park.
I found it most heart-warming and truly uplifting to hear prayers being said or recited by representatives from the Sikh, Hindu, Jewish and Islamic faiths.
Bradford as a City of Sanctuary has a rich heritage of welcoming people of very different faiths or indeed of no particular faith. I for one felt a strong sense of togetherness and unity throughout the service as I stood amongst the large crowd that had assembled to reflect upon the many lives lost in the business of war and conflict.
Amidst the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine let us pray and hope for a cessation that relieves any further unnecessary suffering and loss of innocent lives.
