SIR - I read with utter disbelief that recently departed Bradford Council chief executive Kersten England has very quickly returned to the city on being appointed as the new chair of the team that will run Bradford's City of Culture year (T&A, November 14).
Just who made this wholly inappropriate appointment which simply beggars belief?
This woman, along with Labour Council leader Susan Hinchcliffe, presided over a string of shambolic episodes (to put it kindly) whilst with the Council, and many were glad to see the back of her when she left.
Talk about jobs for the boys! This is an appointment that surely should never have been made, cannot be justified, and is a slap in the face of far too many people in the city.
Quite simply, it stinks.
