CHLOE Jukes was shaking after being named Newcomer of the Year she was so shocked to have won the award.
The Wycliffe CofE Primary School teacher, who was praised for being “vibrant and full of energy”, and having a “stunning rapport with children”.
Miss Jukes is only six months into her teaching career, but she said there is no other job she could see herself doing.
She said: “I don’t even know what to say, I cannot believe it at all.
“I didn’t even think I was going to be able to get out of my chair.
“I am honestly just so thrilled, I’m completely lost for words.
“I have only just started, I have been at Wycliffe for six months and I have had such an amazing time, and I cannot thank everyone who has been a part of my journey so far enough.
“I want to thank Wycliffe for everything they have done, it wouldn’t be the same without them, and the children in my class make my day amazing.
“Every day is a different day and they bring smiles all the time.
“I am so glad I decided to become a teacher.
“I have always wanted to do it, and like I said before, Mrs Sharp, everything we used to do at school I always thought that is what I want to do.
“Everything I have done so far is leading to this moment where I am now, and thankfully it has all paid off!”
Denise Baxter, headteacher at Wycliffe, said: “She came to the school in June last year and was so vibrant and full of energy.
“She has thrown herself into the job and is involved in every aspect of school life.
“Her classroom was ready to go two weeks into the school holidays ready for the children.
“But it is her vibrancy that she has brought, she has brought youth to our team.”
Highly commended in the Newcomer category were Peel Park Primary’s Callum Power, and Jodie Meade of Ley Top Primary.
