THIS dynamic duo from Parkside School have been shortlisted for the care they have provided to a student who suffered a cardiac arrest.
Anne-Marie Smedley and Jennifer Bailey have provided “amazing support” to student Jessica Dyer over the past seven months since her return to school
Jessica’s mother, Sue Dyer, said: “Twelve months ago, my 15-year-old daughter suffered a cardiac arrest which has left her with a brain injury.
“She has had to learn to talk, walk, eat, read and write again, and spent a few months in hospital.
“In hospital, the headmaster and another teacher brought Jess’s friends to visit her.
“When she returned to school on a fazed return over seven months the school was truly amazing with the support they have given her and us as a family.
“They also very caring with her younger sister who had just started Year 7. Andy Taylor and his team went above and beyond to help Jessica and are still doing all they can now with her rehabilitation.”
Mr Taylor said: “The pride I have of how everyone at the school has come together to support Jess and her family is immense.
“The human element Anne-Marie and Jennifer showed in particular makes me immensely proud.”
