CHAIR of governors at Killinghall Primary, Deborah Mills, has been shortlisted for this award due to her unrelenting dedication and passion for improving the lives of children at the school.
She was nominated for the award by headteacher Claire Spencer, who said Mrs Mills is not afraid to ruffle a few feathers in her role.
She said: “Deborah volunteers purely to improve the lives of our children in a very demanding role.
“On occasions she can be in school every day of the week. She is passionate about our school and ensuring that the children in our care receive the very best education.
“She is involved with the development of the whole school curriculum and ensures that subject leaders are challenged
“She is not afraid to hold difficult conversations when necessary she is proactive with training and keeping abreast with the relevant training, she takes the role very seriously.
“She has tackled Ofsted on more than one occasion and endured a grilling interview with them.
“She is available for school at the drop of a hat and has been an inspiration for all the children below her.
“Deborah is a truly inspirational chair of governors who deserves special recognition.”
