THE headteacher at Wycliffe CE Primary, Denise Baxter, was full of praise for Chloe Jukes when she nominated her for the Newcomer of Year award.
She said Ms Jukes has "thrown herself into the job" and has a "stunning rapport with the children".
Ms Jukes has also got involved with the school's reading corner, and is also involved in "every aspect of school life".
Mrs Baxter said: "She came to the school in June last year and was so vibrant and full of energy.
"Her classroom was ready to go two weeks into the school holidays ready for the children.
"She organised a Pirate Day for her class and its sister class, so came to school came as a pirate. But it is her vibrancy that she has brought, she has brought youth to our team."
Ms Jukes said she has always wanted to be a teacher.
She said: "When I was at primary school, I had one teacher who changed everything for me and that's what I wanted to be for other children.
"I thought if I could make a difference, like that teacher made a difference for me, that was all I wanted to do.
"Mrs Sharp, thank you so much. I even saw her when I was in doing my training.
"You have honestly changed my life."
