CRIME across Bradford rose again in March, according to the latest police data.

Figures from the data.police.uk website show there were a total of 6,830 reports in the district.

This compares to 6,500 in February and 6,375 in January 2023, an increase of 5 per cent on the month and 7.1 per cent since the beginning of the year.

Once again the most common reported crime was violence and sexual offences, with a total of 3, 092, followed by public order offences at 697 and reports of criminal damage and arson at 560.

There were also 456 reports of “other theft”, which includes theft by an employee, blackmail and making off without payment.

Anti-social behaviour rose to 436, and there were 365 burglaries, 327 vehicle crims, 302 incidents of shoplifting, and 201 other crimes, which includes forgery, perjury and other miscellaneous crime.

In addition, there were 179 drugs offences, 67 robberies, 62 reports of theft from a person, 56 possession of weapon offences, and 30 bicycle thefts.
