A BRADFORD man has been jailed after being caught drug driving on the M62 motorway while banned.
Mohammed Hussain, of St Leonards Road, Girlington, appeared at court on Monday, April 24, to face three driving offences, and was jailed for two months in total.
The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle over the controlled drug limit for tetrahydrocannabinol – the psychoactive substance found in cannabis.
He also admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance.
The incident took place on the M62 near Howden on January 24, 2022, when Hussain was caught driving a VW Passat.
He was also disqualified from driving for 13 months and must pay £128 to the courts as a victim surcharge.
The hearing took place at Leeds Magistrates’ Court. Documents show magistrates found the offences to be serious as they were aggravated by the defendant’s record of previous offending.
