THE date of a trial against a juror charged with researching a case during a trial and intentionally disclosing information to another member of the jury is to be set.
Marie McCahery, 64, of Oxford Road, Undercliffe, Bradford, is accused of conducting internet research into a motorbike that formed part of the evidence in the trial in February and then passing on her findings to another juror.
At a hearing held at Bradford Crown Court today, Judge Colin Burn said he will contact the Recorder of Leeds, Judge Guy Kearl QC, to arrange a date for a two-day trial in McCahery’s case at Leeds Crown Court.
Judge Burn indicated the trial will likely be held sometime over the next 12 months.
