An expanding Bradford farm shop business will unveil a new look and expanded facilities this weekend following refurbishment work – and has launched a competition giving one customer the chance to officially open the new-look premises.
The golden ticket competition is being run to thank Keelham Farm Shop customers for sticking with it during disruption caused by the work.
One competition winner will be picked at random to officially open Keelham’s refurbished premises at Thornton , Bradford, next month.
The golden tickets will be hidden inside packaged produce all next week with winners receiving £100 Keelham vouchers.
One winner will be chosen to perform the official re-opening of the store on Saturday, September 8.
The makeover included expanding the butchery and delicatessen counters and three additional express tills.
The family business, run by brother and sister James and Victoria Robertshaw, also recently unveiled plans for a £3 million super-sized farm shop in Skipton . James Robertshaw said: “The extension of the butchers is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time. Since our granddad opened his first butchers shop in 1929 we have become well known for our award-winning, prime quality meat which we source directly from local auction marts on a weekly basis and produce from our own farm. The expanded section means we can offer customers more variety as well as a new ‘ready to cook’ range.”
Victoria Robertshaw said: “Keelham Farm Shop has been in the same building since our dad started the shop in the 1970s.
“We realised the space could do with a makeover to make the environment match the fantastic high quality of our fresh local produce and service.
“It is important to us that we retain the authentic and natural feel that our customers love and that is part and parcel of what we do.
“We are proud that there is dirt on our potatoes, the carrots may be irregular in shape and you can smell the fresh tomatoes and strawberries as you walk through the door.
“We will continue to offer our customers the variety and quality they expect and ensure it remains an important part of the local culture and increasingly an attraction for foodie tourists from further afield.”
Keelham Farm Shop will celebrate the makeover on Saturday, September 8, when its staff, along with farmers and producers will be on hand, offering demonstrations and tastings of food.
