Bradford-born Co-op boss Peter Marks, who has led significant expansion of the mutual business, is joining the board of troubled travel giant Thomas Cook as a joint venture between the two companies to form the UK’s largest high street travel agency chain nears completion.
Mr Marks, chief executive of the Co-operative Group, will become a non-executive director at Thomas Cook on October 1, the completion date for the new venture.
