Bradford-based car dealership JCT 600 has provided ‘cars for the stars’ for the tenth year running at the latest Bradford Film Festival, which is in full swing.
The family-run business is providing executive chauffeur driven cars during the 12-day event.
Harry Potter star Timothy Spall arrived at the National Media Museum this week in a BMW 5 Series, courtesy of JCT600 BMW Bradford. He was attending the festival for the UK premiere of his latest film, Reuniting the Rubins.
Other celebrities chauffeured by JCT600 include film maker and former Monty Python star Terry Gilliam, actress Claire Bloom, fresh from her role in the Oscar-winning The King’s Speech, and up-and-coming director Thomas Arslan.
Gordon Mee, general manager at JCT600 BMW Bradford, said: “As well as the pleasure of seeing so many great British actors arriving in our cars, it’s also important that local businesses do all they can to support Bradford as the UNESCO City of Film and the UK’s media centre.”
Meanwhile, a group of students gained an insight into modern car design and technology by visiting the Polar Ford dealership on Canal Road The 15 first-year motor vehicle students from Kirklees College compared new and previous models of the Ford Focus and toured the workshops.
Senior lecturer Mike Whitehouse said: “Investig-ating the technological developments of the new Ford Focus, meeting the staff at Polar Ford and experiencing a working dealership was really inspiring for our students and I know they gained a lot from the opportunity.”
Polar Ford general manager Mark Knapton said: “The increasing use of advanced technology in cars means that service technicians require a first-rate understanding of the increasingly complex technological trends.”
