A Bradford company that supplies furniture for major events is on track to double its annual turnover.

Event Hire, based in Enterprise Court, Prince Street, off Tong Street, has a projected turnover of just over £2 million for the current financial year – twice that of 2009-10.

Throughout the year, the furniture-hire firm has been called upon by the organisers of a string of high-profile events.

The company supported the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards last weekend.

Earlier this year, it supplied thousands of chairs, tables, tableware and accessories to prestigious national events including Royal Ascot, The Open at St Andrews and the British Grand Prix.

The company is also providing furniture for the ongoing World Darts Championships at the Alexandra Palace in London.

Those who wish to cheer on Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor can do so from the comfort of hundreds of tables provided by Event Hire.

Les Vipond, managing director of Event Hire, said: “This year has been the most outstanding we’ve enjoyed since we formed the business in 2005, and we’re delighted to have such a busy December.

“In addition to the many winter weddings and Christmas parties to which we provide furniture, tableware, LED bars and hot buffet stations, we’ve once again been fortunate to be awarded these incredible contracts. From wine coolers to tables and chairs, to cutlery and shining centrepieces such as illuminated bars, we’ve been able to provide a whole array of services and equipment to ensure that every occasion we’re asked to work on, wherever it is, is a success. We’re looking forward to working with these organisers again in 2011.”

Earlier this year, the business was awarded Hire Company of the Year by Hire Association Europe.
