Saltaire-based Filtronic has completed the £12.5 million sale of its semiconductors business.
Filtronic yesterday announces a definitive agreement for the sale of all of the share capital of Filtronic Compound Semiconductors the sale of which is expected to complete on February 29.
The buyer, previously unnamed, has now been to unveiled as US firm RF Micro Devices.
Filtronic, who earlier this announced that it expects to return to profitability in 2008 after a troubled 18 months, will now focus on its wireless communications and electronic defence equipment divisions.
