Bingley-based firm Feature Radiators took home the Business or Technical Innovation of the Year award. The company, based in the Old Post Office on Main Street, is one of the country’s leading retailers of designer, contemporary and traditional radiators. It has also developed its own system of converting all radiators to more sustainable electric ones.
Helena Gerwitz, 34, the company's head of marketing and business development, attributed the success to the specialist service the firm provides. "It is a real niche. We are radiator specialists, we don't do bathrooms or things like that.
"We have the largest radiator showroom in the UK - people come from all over the country to see us.
"And our sales guys give really good advice, they do not work on commission."

She added: "We have really lovely customers and lots of repeat business and recommendations. It is working really well."
Feature Radiators created iBox, a device to wirelessly link almost any electric radiators, to form a centrally controlled system. It can be installed on a brand new system or retrospectively, to upgrade existing electric radiators. It can also be supplied along with electric element kits to re-use original cast iron radiators by electrifying them.
On winning the award, Helena said: "It is really good. There are some big-name people here.
“We are really chuffed and genuinely quite surprised.
“I am really pleased and it just shows that listening to customers pays off. We respond to what customers want."
Helena also reserved praise for the awards venue, Aagrah Midpoint, adding: "It is really good curry!"
Highly commended by the judges were Redfern Travel and Birkenshaw-based Park House Healthcare.
