MANUFACTURING group McBride, whose cost-cutting programme will see some jobs go at its Bradford site and other locations, has reported a 2.6 per cent sales rise in the three months to the end of March.
McBride, which makes personal care and household cleaning products for leading retailers is reducing its UK workforce by 400 to 1,200 in a bid to save £12 million by summer 2016.
The cutbacks will affect manufacturing plants at Dudley Hill, Barrow, Hull and Middleton.
In a trading updateMcBride stated: “Group revenues were 2.6 per cent higher and Private Label sales 2.9 per cent higher on a constant currency basis than the comparable quarter in 2014.
“Sales in UK and Italy showed modest growth but France and Spain remained challenging. The German market continued to deliver the growth levels seen in the first half.
“The UK restructuring project is progressing well and remains fully on track.”
