JOHN Gabler has joined West Yorkshire bespoke furniture maker Dovetailors as workshop director.
US-born Mr Gabler studied furniture design at the University of Tasmania before becoming a designer and maker in the UK. He founded Gabler Furniture in 2007 and has a long association with Dovetailors.
as a member of the Northern Contemporary Furniture Makers group.
David Wilson, Dovetailors creative director, said the appointment would improve efficiency and enable expansion at the firm’s Farsley manufacturing base.
He said: “John is an experienced maker and businessman whose operational skills will ensure we continue to meet tight deadlines and maintain high quality standards as we step up output. .
“His role as head of the production team will free me up to focus on bespoke design and the development of new product ranges for our Leeds store and online shop.”
Dovetailors relocated to Sunny Bank Mills in Farsley last summer to allow for expansion. The business makes bespoke kitchens and furniture for private customers and has developed a strong commercial client base. It recently completed a project for Wakefield Cathedral and supplies components for businesses including Yorkshire Pianos.
