NEW Morrisons boss David Potts has today moved to streamline the company's top management structure - resulting in five directors leaving the business.
Just over a week after arriving at the grocer's Bradford base, former Tesco man Mr Potts has swung the axe to reshape Morrisons' management board.
Those affected include Nigel Robinson, managing director of Morrisons' convenience store chain M-local, which the company recently announced would see 23 store closures.
Morrisons has also halted its convenience store roll-out to ensure new stores are better located.
Also axed are customer marketing and digital director Nick Collard; retail director Martyn Fletcher, property and strategy director Gordon Mowat and logistics director Neal Austin.
Mr Potts said: “I will now be constructing a leaner Management Board, with the aim of simplifying and speeding up the business.
"Ross Eggleton and Miles Foster will continue to lead logistics and our M local chain respectively. Andy Atkinson and Clare Grainger have been appointed to interim marketing and retail director respectively."
