SKIPTON Building Society features in a list of best places to work for the first time.
The mutual, which employs more than 1,600 staff, has made its debut in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies To Work For league table at number 58.
The table, based on the views of employees, produces lists for small, medium and large companies. Skipton featured in the best mid-size companies category of companies with between 250 and 4,999 employees.
David Cutter, Skipton Group chief executive, said: “To be named at 58 in the UK’s best companies to work for is a testament to the hard work being carried out to ensure all colleagues feel valued, and I would like to thank them all for contributing to this success.
“By constantly engaging with our colleagues we will ensure that we continue trying to make the Society an even better place to work.”
Santander UK , which has more than 1,200 staff in Bradford, has been included in the list of best 25 large companies to work for. The Spanish-owned bank
has more than 20,000 staff .
Simon Lloyd, Santander chief people officer, said: “ The fact that the awards are based on direct feedback from employees makes this achievement even more valuable. The wellbeing and job satisfaction of our employees is paramount to the success of our organisation and our goal to being a bank that is simple, personal and fair.”
Healthcare technology firm TPP, based in Horsforth, was named number one for the second year running in the top 100 small companies list. It is the sixth year TPP has been listed .
Other local firms included in the list include Calverley-based fleet management firm Zenith; Guiseley-based White Cross Vets, and Bibby Financial Services which has operations in Bradford.
