METAL-WORKING company Arkoni is working on one of its biggest projects to date at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital on Merseyside.
The £900,000 contract to make and install fire-rated windows and doors, curtain walling, rooflights and smoke ventilators is nearly double Arkoni’s previous largest project at Derby Sports Arena. Mark Prentice (pictured), managing director of the Brighouse-based firm, said: “We’re delighted to be involved in the ongoing building work for the relocated Alder Hey in the Park project. We are winning more and more major contracts as the UK’s construction industry continues to recover from the recession”
Established in 1991, Arkoni currently employs 52 people and reported a 30 per cent rise in turnover to £5.25 million in the year to July 2014 and expects similar growth this year.
