PROSPECTIVE home buyers will be able to find out more about the government-backed Help to Buy scheme this weekend.
Local housebuilder David Wilson Homes is hosting events on Saturday and Sunday at sites in West Yorkshire, including Garnett Wharfe in Otley.
A local Help to Buy agent will be available to help visitors understand how the scheme works and independent financial advice will also be on offer to enable people learn more about how much they can borrow. With Help to Buy, house hunters need a deposit of as little as five per cent of the asking price .
Sales advisers from David Wilson Homes will also speak to prospective buyers about the process of buying a new home.
Sophie Gilligan, assistant regional manager at Help to Buy, said: “The scheme has proved to be a tremendous success across the region as well as nationwide, with over 30,000 people taking advantage of the equity loan since its launch in April 2013.”
Sam Wood, David Wilson Homes sales director, added: “Since the launch of Help to Buy, we’ve helped hundreds of people move into new homes by utilising the scheme, but we often find that people are unsure whether they qualify to use the scheme and how to utilise it, so this event is all about bringing together experts from across Yorkshire to offer advice to prospective buyers.”
