AFTER winning a regional business export award a healthcare products company is seeking public support to win the overall national title and a package of business support.

Principle Healthcare International in Skipton has been named a Yorkshire winner of the GREAT Faces of British Business competition, part of a campaign launched last year, in association with BT Business, to find the most innovative, exciting UK businesses.

Principle Healthcare was named best exporter in the Yorkshire region and is now in the running to win the national competition and the top prize of £30,000 worth of government support.

The winners will be decided by a combination of judging and public vote.

Andrew Davies, Principle Healthcare International managing director, said: “We’re thrilled to have been selected as a regional winner in the GREAT Faces of British Business competition.

“There’s a wealth of innovative small and medium-sized businesses out there and it’s great to be recognised as one of them by the competition. We would love to win the national award.”

Principle Healthcare International has been trading for seven years, providing vitamins, minerals and supplements to customers across the globe. Trading in 41 countries, the company gained a royal seal of approval in 2012 by winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade.

The company recently opened an innovations centre, to monitor global nutritional needs and product formulation requirements across the world.

Following increased demand from Europe over 18 months, it opened an office in Germany. The business has also won some significant Western European business for 2015, breaking into five new markets.

The national competition consists of the regional winners from the three categories: best exporter, most innovative business and best growth story. The grand prix winner, selected by a national judging panel, will be announced in March.http://greatbusiness.gov.uk/competition

The prize includes a bespoke creative advertising campaign worth £30,000, along with an iPad Air and unlimited BT Wi-Fi for 12 months, courtesy of BT Business. The winner will also receive a package of export support from UK Trade & Investment.

Business Minister Matthew Hancock said: “Principle Healthcare International is a brilliant example of a successful small firm run by enterprising, hardworking people. We are backing them all the way and, with advice and support on offer, there has never been a better time to start and grow a business in the UK.”
