STAFF at a Bradford-based motors group have raised nearly three times their target for the firm’s chosen charity in the last 12 months.
JCT600 has handed over £52,000 to the Association of Young People with ME (AYME). The cash was raised by the company’s 2,000 staff through a range of activities at its Apperley Bridge head office and 47 dealerships. Nigel Shaw, JCT600 finance director, said: “Originally we had hoped to raise £18,000 for AYME, and to have almost trebled our target is amazing. It’s always inspiring to see the enthusiasm and ingenuity of colleagues as they come up with a host of stunts to support our chosen charity. “ Fundraisers included one of the company’s financial controllers walking to Everest base camp, a team from Volkswagen Bradford driving an old banger more than 2,500 miles to Monte Carlo, and a sponsored skydive which raised £1,500.
Mary-Jane Willows, AYME chief executive, said: “It’s absolutely fantastic that the team at JCT600 has raised £52,000 for AYME and we’d like to thank every one of them for their support.”
