EVERY worker at a window manufacturer has received a trophy after the company won a national glass and glazing industry award.
Boss Adrian Barraclough held a special ceremony at the Brighouse base of Quickslide, which has more than 100 employees, where each staff member was given a trophy to mark the firm’s success in a national industry competition.
The Bradford Road-based firm was recognised in the G Awards for the industry’s best training and development initiative, which had involved the commitment of Quickslide’s whole workforce.
Adrian said: “Every one of our team signed up to the training programme so it’s only fair that they all share this. I know it’s a cliché, but quite literally we could not have won this award without all of our people.
“I wanted them all to be up on the stage with us when we were called up at the original awards but it wasn’t possible. So now we have been able to include everyone and they can look at their own trophy with pride, knowing that they played a real part in winning it.”
The award was won after the whole workforce committed to a training programme that has saved hundreds of thousands of pounds for the company whilst improving quality and output.
Adrian said: “The result now is that every member of the workforce is fully aware of being an accountable problem solver, each one understanding that this is their business as much as it is anyone else’s and that they can work together to shape its future so that they all benefit from its success.
“That is why every one of them signed the G14 Award submission and why every one of them has an equal right to be proud of our win.”
The award is the latest in a series of local and national accolades won by the firm, which uses a world-class manufacturing production system established by Toyota and used globally by many other top brands.
Quickslide is the UK’s leading manufacturer of PVC-U vertical sliding sash windows as well as a wide range of casement windows, bi-folding doors and residential doors which it sells nationally to builders and installers.
The firm also has a retail and trade counter in Brighouse and a showroom in York.
